Jordan Hoewischer
Jordan Hoewischer serves as the Director of Water Quality and Research for the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation (OFBF). He filled a newly created position that is part of OFBF’s $1 million Water Quality Action Plan, which aims to protect Ohio’s water resources and preserve farmers’ ability to produce food. Hoewischer engages in research and advising on scientific data, policy considerations and social expectations that impact Ohio communities, businesses, farmers and natural resources. He works closely with county Farm Bureau organizations and collaborates with other agriculture and water quality stakeholders.
Prior to joining Farm Bureau, Hoewischer was a senior research specialist for Scotts Miracle Gro and has held other positions at that company since 2007. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Ohio State University and a master’s degree in natural resources and environmental science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Hoewischer served on the board for the Franklin County Farm Bureau, is an agricultural adviser to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank and is involved with other community groups. He is a graduate of OFBF’s AgriPOWER Institute leadership program. He is part of the fifth generation of his family’s Shelby County farm.
