Dr. Harold J. Arata

Dr. Harold J. Arata III is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and is the Lead Systems Design Engineer for AT&T, Government Solutions. In this role, Dr. Arata is a key adviser to C-Suite level executives focusing on cyberspace systems acquisition management, program analysis, training and education initiatives to include critical changes in new growth opportunities in the competitive cyber security/Intelligence landscape, global marketplace, and DoD environment.

Preceding his career in industry and federal civil service, Dr. Arata was an Air Force active duty (2-year below-the-zone) “Full Colonel.” Dr. Arata earned a PhD in computer science from the University of Tulsa and master’s degrees in aeronautical science, international security studies and computer science from; Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the Air University and the University of Tulsa. Dr. Arata has completed the National and International Security program at Harvard University, the Cyber Law Program at Stanford University, National Defense University’s DoD Advanced Management and Chief Information Officer programs, and the Federal Executive Institute’s Leadership for a Democratic Society program. Furthermore, Dr. Arata was selected to the Governor of Oklahoma’s Homeland Security Task Force, served as a consultant to the Oklahoma State House of Representatives on homeland security legislation and developed computer security policy for the Oklahoma Department of Health.

Dr. Arata currently represents AT&T as a member of several cyber-related consortiums and committees including, the Digital Forensics Consortium and the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Board of Advisors Wright Patterson Chapter.

Dr. Arata authored a number of professional publications, is the recipient of the CyberPatriot “Order of Merit,” and is a SANS 2016 “Difference Makers” awardee.
